Naval Architect

Because our office in Athens is rapidly growing, TRESIOS is looking for several Naval Architects to expand our engineering team in Greece. In this role you will be providing naval or marine engineering to vessel owners, shipyards, and shipping companies. You are involved with projects end-to-end and responsible for both the development, designing and, if necessary, supervisor or managing during the construction.

Responsibilities

  • Be familiar with and to maintain awareness of the client’s current requirements.
  • To ensure that all activities are carried out in a manner consistent with the client’s policy on health, safety, quality, and environmental matters in accordance with the client’s specific procedures.
  • Review and be familiar with Engineering Department Manuals,
  • Specifications, Design and Drawing procedures and work instructions in order to conform with the client’s IMS
  • Be familiar with latest Industry Codes and Standards including statutory rules and regulations.
  • To ensure his/her own safety and that of others is not compromised or placed at risk.
  • Help develop and encourage any technical suggestions that will enhance the overall Project Engineering or Operational efficiency.
  • Help implement and organize approved modifications to the project, ensuring changes are fully documented and included in the appropriate documents.
  • Develop Department/Group Specifications and Guidelines.
  • Develop and utilize test procedures including computer modelling.
  • Engineering design of commercial and recreational vessels (new built), modifications & repairs, transportation and sea fastening design.
  • Interpret and analyze data and test results.
  • Identify the need for, and supervising, vessel repairs.
  • Participate at project meetings, where required.
  • Prepare Reports/Summary for project meetings.
  • Prepare offshore operations procedures at the request of the Vessel
  • Superintendent and/or Project Manager.
  • Assist in the planning of offshore mobilization/demobilization of project equipment.
  • Assist in compiling engineering and technical specifications, operation/test manuals maintenance procedures, work instructions and offshore procedures where required as part of the project.
  • Assist in the co-ordination assembly, testing, commission, installation, and operation at onshore and offshore locations.
  • Other duties as directed the line management from time to time.

Who are you?

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture or Engineering.
  • You have junior (1-3 years) or medior (+3 years) working experience in naval or maritime engineering and are interested in working in the energy and maritime industry.
  • You are willing to travel and work at the construction site when needed.
  • You feel confident working independently and know how to show initiative.

Furthermore:

  • You are an excellent communicator and know how to connect with your team and the various departments in our organization.
  • You have a structured way of working, know how to remain overview and are able to respond ad hoc.
  • You are fluent in both Greek and English, in writing and verbally.
